Well boys and girls, I just finished day 2 of P90X, Cardio X. Let me tell you, honestly, I dreaded this. I hate the word "cardio". To me, cardio means "running". But it wasn't like that at all. It was...fun! A lot of fun! As Tony mentions in the beginning of the tape, this cardio workout is a mix of many kinds of exercises: aerobics, core, plyo, and a good amount of kenpo (martial arts). The tape really isn't that long either - only 30-40 minutes of intense cardio. The great thing is it isn't exhausting or impossible. It's fun, you can go at your own pace, and you work up a great sweat. I was able to keep up with the entire tape but fell out at the very last exercise, Superman-Banana, partially due to the fact that I kept rolling into my fireplace and decided to just give up :).
I ate a banana before the workout and made up a protein drink afterwards. Since I have a ridiculous amount of food allergies and am not able to use whey powder, I somehow got my hands on this organic powder called Riceotein. For those of you out there who have food allergies, this stuff is amazing - no gluten, lactose, whey, or soy. It's made of brown rice (weird) but it actually tastes bearable - pretty good, even. I had some with some lactose free milk and it was like a big ol glass of chocolate milk right after a workout :). I also ate half a slice of cheddar cheese and a piece of bacon. Lunch will be a Healthy Choice meal - turkey with gravy and mashed potatoes. I feel like that's always a good bet, as far as any prepackaged meal goes. I'm making a little calzone for dinner (and I'm fuckin pumped out of my mind about it), which surprisingly (according to my online food journal/calorie counter) won't turn out to be that bad.
Well, until tomorrow...
